  Uruthrakkam / Rudrathcam               
The seed of Rudraksh has been given a very special place and it is credited with mystical and divine properties.

The botanical name of the Rudraksh plant is 'ELAEOCARPUS GRANITRUS'.

This is found in the various parts of the world. It is said that the seed of Rudraksh contains the secrets of entire evolution of the cosmos within it.

Rudratch is formed by association of two words, 'RUDRA' & 'ATCHA'.
Rudra is the name of Lord Siva & Atcha means 'tear'.
It is said that the plant of Rudratch is originated from the tear drops of Lord Siva.
According to vedic scriptures,
Rudratch can nullify the effects of malefic planets to a great extent.

Importance of Rudratcham
Vethangal have given special importance to Rudratcham, as it is believed that Rudratcham has originated from the tears of lord Sivaa.

The chain of 108 beads or 54 beads if worn and worshipped , provides all types of benefits. Therefore , it is important that Rudratcham should always be respected and kept pure. Even if, one wears Rudratcham on his body, without doing worship or doing poosai / saying sacred mantra, does no get any sinful deed or thought.

Rudratcham of different mugam pleases the corresponding planets. It may be sufficient to go in for only for those mugam whose ruling planets, cause malefic effects.
